The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Area Controller in maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels of internal control, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kahler Hospitality Operating Procedures, while safeguarding the assets of owners and investors. For this role, the emphasis is placed on managing the Income Audit. This is an excellent position to gain experience in the hospitality industry.
Complete daily Income Audit, including entering and/or verifying information into the ProfitSword daily.
Update daily revenue reports for both internal and corporate distribution.
Monitor guest ledger, advance deposit ledger, and any other related ledgers to ensure proper internal control.
Handle customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner, and provide customers with accurate invoices, statements, and schedules.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction by providing attentive listening and promptly resolving guest issues or escalating them to the appropriate manager.
Process and research returned checks and credit card chargebacks.
Keep management informed of any unusual operations or financial occurrences, as well as significant deviations.
Reconcile invoices against ledgers or schedules to ensure accuracy of invoicing.
Assist in the monthly close process by posting assigned journal entries.
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
Prepare & submit monthly sales tax.
Manage Tax Exempts
Cross-train in other areas within the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, cashiering, and accounts receivable.
Ability to identify root causes of issues that may affect staff or guests and provide actionable and measurable solutions to improve efficiency, overall work environment, and/or guest experience.
Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Range:
$55,000 - $65,000 annually based on qualifications
