    Kahler Grand Hotel is looking for an engineer 1. We offer competative wages and benefits!

    Responsibilities

     

    To maintain, repair and clean mechanical areas and equipment. Assist other trade mechanics in their duties to ensure a safe, clean, and well maintained hotel. This is an entry level engineering role.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Complete specific engineering work projects as assigned
    • Maintain and repair all refrigeration, HVAC plumbing and electrical equipment in the kitchen, guestrooms, convention and public areas.
    • Maintain preventative maintenance routine as assigned.
    • Maintain compliance with Kahler Hospitality and government policies and procedures including EPA, HAZCOM, SD; training is provided.
    • Maintain tools and parts inventory procedures.
    • Other job related duties as assigned by management to include cross-training.
    • Answer radio calls and address guest inquiries and complaints.

    Qualifications

    DESIRED COMPETENCIES, WORK SKILLS, AND KNOWDLEGE REQUIRED

    To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies. Other competencies not listed may be required for specific positions. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

    • Must have basic knowledge of skilled trade activities in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical work and painting.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment
    • Skill in the use of a variety of skilled trade tools (including both hand and electric tools).
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • High School Diploma preferred
    • Previous maintenance experience preferred.
    • Test and maintain proper chemistry for pool water.

     

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BUM – Building Utilities Mechanical Course Graduate
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Refrigeration/HVAC certification or journeyman level preferred
    • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and painting.
